Daniele Celano
Editorial Specialist, Civil War Governors of Kentucky Project
Archives hold the key to uncovering and understanding history, yet are far from passive repositories of old or tattered papers. As an editorial specialist, Celano works to amplify the voices of everyday people in the Civil War era and bring to light the stories and experiences of wartime Kentuckians from diverse backgrounds. Celano is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Virginia studying 19th-century American legal history, with a focus on slavery and civil liberties. Her work has been published in the Register of the Kentucky Historical Society and America's Civil War magazine.
